Bosko Kante

Bio

Not every tech founder can boast of being a highly sought after music producer, a mechanical engineer and one of the world’s top talkbox artists, but Bosko Kante’s talents and accomplishments allow him to do just that. With over 11 million records sold bearing his credits, Bosko’s work has helped to enhance the careers of superstar artists such as Dua Lipa, Kanye West, Drake, Tupac, E-40, Limp Bizkit, J. Cole, and many more.

Bosko was born in Accra, Ghana of West Africa and raised in Portland, Oregon. Bosko began his musical career as a DJ but quickly crossed over into the realm of producer. As his high school’s valedictorian, Bosko earned a full academic scholarship to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California where he also walked on to the #4 ranked Division I Basketball team. While still in college, Bosko received his first major break when he was asked to produce the theme song to the major network tv smash hit show In Living Color (feat. Jamie Foxx, Jim Carey, & Jennifer Lopez). A remix for E-40’s hit “Sprinkle Me” and other projects soon followed, including talkbox performances on numerous hit records including Kanye’s West’s “The New Work Out Plan” leading to a Grammy for Hip Hop Album The College Dropout, and a  Grammy nomination for “Shutterbugg” by Big Boi also featuring Bosko on talkbox.

Bosko’s ascent as one of Hip Hop’s most popular talk box artist continued when he was featured on J. Cole’s 2x Platinum single “Work Out”, followed by more appearances with Kelly Rowland & Big Boi, Flo Rida, and Janelle Monae.

Encouraged by his success as a talkbox artist and seeing an opportunity to use tech to bring the talkbox to the masses, Bosko co-founded ElectroSpit in 2014. ElectroSpit is a hardware startup company creating a wearable musical instrument inspired by the talkbox. Soon after inception, ElectroSpit was accepted into Zoo Labs, a music tech incubator founded by early Google employee & engineer, Vinitha & Dave Watson.

Bosko invented the now patented ElectroSpit ESX-1 mobile-phone enabled tubeless talkbox and ElectroSpit launched the product via a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign that was funded in under 48hrs.  As CEO and product manager of ElectroSpit, Bosko led development and set up manufacturing in Oakland, California. The ESX-1 took home 1st Place & People Choice at the prestigious Georgia Tech Guthman Musical Instrument Competition in early 2020.

Bosko guided ElectroSpit through the pandemic, completing delivery to Kickstarter backers and growing sales to $50k/mon in Dec 2020.   He also secured a key relationship with world’s #1 DJ David Guetta boosting ESX-1 sales through Guetta’s organic video using the instrument. Bosko further collaborated with his idol Stevie Wonder leading to Stevie using the ESX-1 on the 50th Anniversary theme song and Network TV special for Sesame Street. Bosko also performed on Dua Lipa’s #2 worldwide hit “Levitating” featuring Da Baby, Missy Elliot, and Madonna from her 2021 Grammy Winning Album.

Even as he continues to grow ElectroSpit Inc., Bosko is giving back to the community with his non-profit organization the Black Music Entrepreneurship Incubator, dedicated to passing on the knowledge and resources gained in his music career and entrepreneurial journey to the next generation of black music artists and entrepreneurs.
